In our second week of Art Camp we explored the world around us, using nature as both materials and inspiration for our work. We used leaves for leaf rubbings, made our own paint from leaves, flowers and fruit and turned leaves, pine needles and dandelions into different textured paintbrushes. We also represented the wonders of nature in our art works as we depicted the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly (also a lot of fun to dramatize to music!) and represented the vivid shapes and colours of the undersea world with pastels and watercolours and through dance! After this week I think all of us became more closely observant of the beautiful details and patterns in the natural world.
